2017 Citizen's Police Academy
The Rochester Police Department will be holding its sixth annual Citizen’s Police Academy starting in March of 2017. Citizens who participate in this program will be exposed to the many facets of their police department through presentations by department employees, hands-on training and ride-a-longs with police officers. Here's your chance to learn and become exposed to what your police department "really does".
The Citizen’s Academy class will meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for eleven weeks starting on March 14th and concluding on May 23rd. All participants must be 18 years of age or older at the commencement of the Academy, or 15 years of age or older if accompanied by a parent or guardian. The class is limited to 20 participants and will be conducted on a first come, first served basis, with preference being given to Rochester residents. Applications and Release of Information Authorization forms are available below. Both forms require a signature and can either be mailed or dropped off at the Rochester Police Department. Participants must pass a brief background check to include a criminal record check.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday March 8, 2017.
